Product Info: This yellow cedar bentwood box is carved with two salmon-trout's head designs, surrounded by Ricket's Blue Paint. Ricket's Blue was a laundry whitener (powder) that the Natives mixed with salmon eggs to make this blue paint.
The blue color encases the salmon-trout's head design, as if surrounded by water, while the horizontal slats can be thought of as waves.
Richard Sumner is known for his steam-bent boxes. He makes large steam-bent chests, canoe boxes, and steam-bent bowls.
