Though the cultural styles of the First Nations people of the Pacific Northwest share many similarities, each First Nation has its own uniqueness that distinguishes it from the others, and this is reflected in their art as well as other aspects of their culture.
To truly understand a people's art, one should understand the culture from which the art was created. The two are always intertwined.
